My New Adventure

I am excited to announce that I have joined the Sketch N Scrap Design Team. I will be part of the Social Media Team with Julene (from Australia) and Meena (from India). I didn't realize that I would be joining such an intercontinental group. There is a lovely introduction to the Design Team on the website.

I have been playing along with the Sketch N Scrap challenges for a few months now and I am overjoyed that I decided to put my name in the hat for the design team.
You will see me on the Sketch N Scrap's Facebook page at least twice a month with a scrapbook layout and a card. I encourage you to head over and "like" us and join the group. Participate in all the challenges or just when you are in the mood. Julene, Meena, and I will be checking out all of the Facebook entries!!! For a head's up you can note that I will be posting July 6 and 13 for my first contributions.

Stylized Birthday

I found this Spellbinders die set on the clearance rack at Hobby Lobby a couple of weeks ago. I thought it would be fun to work with. I have to say it was just as much fun as I thought it would be.  My fave part were the berries on the card and especially on the envelope.

Card and Envelope
I die cut all pieces on white. All of the color was added using ink on daubers. For the berries on the card, I inked with Jelly Bean Green, then placed the metal die over the berries and daubed Wild Lilac thru the die. As a final touch 3 sparkly dots were added to each berry with a Sakura Copper Gelly Roll.
For the berries on the envelope, I used the negative of the berries' die cut to ink with Jelly Bean Green, then inked Wild Lilac thru the die and added the dots of Sakura Copper Gelly Roll. Lastly, I inked around the outside of the dies using Powder Blue.
The leaves are inked with Jelly Bean Green and the identical offset leaves are inked with Fresh Asparagus.
I created a layered tic-tac-toe background using card stock and patterned paper.

Bike on the Bridge

For this card I am using Theresa Momber's "Country Roads". Copics were used to color the covered bridge and placed on the card off set by a Silhouette cut using Fresh Asparagus ink.

Card and Envelope
The stripes are cut from Fired Brick card stock. I used the Ranger Distress Marker Spritzer Tool. My Faded Brick Distress Marker was dry so I used a Marvy LePlume English Rose marker. These markers are skinnier than the Distress markers, but it still worked in the spritzer tool. This is good to know since I have many of these markers.
Finally I added the metal bicycle. I was thinking what fun it would be to ride that bike through that covered bridge on to points beyond.

Bicycle Race

I am combining 3 challenges today. The first is using this sketch from Sketch N Scrap. I turned the sketch 90 degrees and moved the sentiment to the opposite side.

Card Sketch #99

The other 2 challenges are both from Stamp TV: Mix-It-Up Monday (Let the Music Move You) and Stamp TV Kit Addicts Group (Watercolor).

I created my own background for this card. I started by painting Color Burst with a paintbrush. I then used a burlap stencil to daub Warm Cocoa ink over the Color Burst. I colored the image with watercolor markers, die cut it, and popped it onto the card.
My husband I recently (last October) moved into a new house. We live in a lovely community with nature trails and sidewalks. I love to ride my bike. In 1978, (I was a junior in college) Queen recorded a silly song called "Bicycle Race". It is silly, but it is the kind of song that gets stuck in your head and you can't get rid of it. Sometimes when I'm riding my bike I start singing . . .
Bicycle bicycle bicycle
I want to ride my bicycle bicycle bicycle
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride my bike
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride it where I like
You say black I say white
You say bark I say bite
You say shark I say hey man
Jaws was never my scene
And I don't like Star Wars
