Butterfly - Night and Day

I was so excited that the Stamp TV challenge this week is black/white. I love working with these colors and enjoy looking at other black/white projects. They always catch my attention! I used a Sketch 'n Scrap sketch to double up on challenges.
Birthday Bash Sketch #2
You are looking at lots of layers - 8 at the thickest part. This card feels really sturdy in my hands.
I grabbed a pad of black/white patterned paper that I had to dig out from the depths of the closet. I took each section of the sketch and worked within it. To make the butterfly, I stamped two - one in Moonlit Fog and one in Tuxedo Black. Each is fussy cut, then placed one on top of the other, placed in the trimmer, and cut in half. The leftover halves are on the inside of the card.

Card and Envelope
For the envelope, I used the MISTI to stamp it by inking it up only half at a time - a two-step process.

Blooming Pocket Card

I made this card for two challenges. I am using a Sketch N Scrap sketch. The Stamp TV challenge is a pocket and finish the inside of the card as well - which I ALWAYS do anyway.

Moonlit Mum

For this card I am using a sketch from Sketch 'n Scrap.

Sketch #97

The challenge this week on Stamp TV is This or That. This is using an embossing folder and that is using vellum. I am doing "THAT".

Card and Envelope
The focal point is a silver embossed mum. I stamped and embossed it on vellum. To color it, I placed some Dusty Rose ink on the table, dabbed a paintbrush with minimal water on it, and added the color to the mum. The embossing acts as a resist, so no need to carefully paint the mum. Just stay inside the outer lines of the stamp.
I placed an ivory card stock circle behind the vellum - as well as two layers of chipboard.
The leaves are embossed with silver embossing powder on ivory and fussy cut.

Colorful Seascapes

I was a bit jealous when I first viewed the Color Burst background I saw over at VA's Creative Clutter. I stopped by the craft store Monday to pick up a box of Color Burst watercolor powder to give it a try.
Cards with Envelopes

I tried the Color Burst 2 ways. For the first card I used a paint brush to apply; for the second I used acetate. Both are on watercolor paper. I tried stamping the lighthouse and boat onto the watercolor paper, but I couldn't get a good stamp due to the texture of the paper. I ended up stamping them on regular white card stock, fussy cutting, and pop dotting them to the background. I still wasn't happy because the regular white paper was a truer white than the watercolor paper. I ended up using a W0 Copic marker to color the white spaces in the stamp. Just what I needed!

Hopeful Turtle

My sister-in-law just had back surgery, so I made this card to cheer her up. This guy is certainly down in the dumps. Hope he gets back on his feet soon.

I can't tell you a thing about the card stock on this card. Except for the blue and the card base, I raided my scrap paper folders. Since I moved into the new house, I have done a bit of organizing. I placed hanging folders in the bottom drawer of my desk for any scraps I deem large enough to be productive. I have simply divided the folders by major colors: purple, blue, blue green, green, yellow, orange, red, pink, brown, ivory, black, white, and kraft. Before this, it seemed that I was always cutting into a brand new piece of 12x12 card stock. I find that I am able at times to complete entire projects from the scrap folders.

I am currently working to make some sense of my patterned paper. That is much more difficult. I have decided to use 12x12 clear bags to keep new sheets and scraps of paper from a common collection. I would have to say that at this time, this is under construction.

Back in February, I was searching for a .svg that cut a circle step card base. I was unable to find one, so I designed one myself to make this Noah's Ark Card. Today I am using it again. The Silhouette was also used to cut the blue mat and the mat for the inside of the card.

You can deduce by looking at the materials list that I used several sources to make the flowers that I wanted. I love die cutting a stack of multi-colored; multi-shaped flowers and putting them together into one flower. I used this exact method earlier this month to make a flamingo card.

Inside of Card
Does the inside of the card look pink to you? This mat is cut from the same green as the vines on the front of the card. It looks pink to me. On my phone this paper this looks green. Hmmmmmm!
